Ok – I wrote a few days ago about a polish color I read about and looked at on the Project Vanity site. I’ve done a little more digging into whether this intriguing grey OPI polish is available…and guess what I found – it is!
Do you have OPI Nail Envy?
I do, and always will – but I try and satisfy my craving for that perfect nail design all the time. Cute nails are within reach using this apparently rare but totally unique nail color.
Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous is part of the OPI Swiss collection of polishes…I have to be honest in my quest for beautiful nails I often gravitate to either Shatter Crackle Polish, or some variant of a black nail polish…which explains why I’ve overlooked this perfect OPI nail color in the past. It was part of their Fall/Winter 2010 collection, so not super old, but you may have missed it as well given it is “last years fashion”!
I found it online in several places, as well as at a local beauty supply store here in the Denver area for under $8 – which to me is a real bargain!
So since I didn’t feel like doing a complete polish job given I just put on some cool crackle polish, I cleared my left index finger last night and put a new base polish coat on, then tried this awesome looking OPI Lucerne polish.
After getting a bit impatient waiting for the base coat to dry and finally applying this grey looking nail polish, I let it dry and tried not to look at it, as I wanted to see how it looked on my manicured nails when it was completely dry.
After about 10 minutes I peeked out of my right eye – WOW. Although described as gun metal grey – a closer analogy may be to think about pencil lead – that glimmers with almost microscopic metallic particles in the sunlight!
I love it – it shimmers, is a dark enough grey that it provides some of that eye catching mystery effect of wearing a black polish. The shimmer effect combined with a darker shade of grey also does a beautiful job on my nails in terms of hiding a couple of little chips I have near the side. This nails design is quite cool, and of course very easy to achieve once I found the actual opi polish!
Is this the best nail polish ever for my beautiful nails? Maybe not the best ever, but it is a great nail polish color, and I never go wrong with considering OPI to be the best nail polish brand…
So, mystery solved. This color is available, not super expensive, and honestly when my crackle polish is ready in 2-3 weeks to come off, all of my nails will be getting this super star treatment [yea, its not the Katy Perry line, but it's still OPI!].
And for those of you keeping track, I did clear this polish off and reapply a matching crackle the next morning so I wouldn’t have some totally unique but totally weird nail design disparity going on!
If you are into the latest 2011 polishes, OPI has released their Fall 2011 Nail Polish Collection, which is worth checking out. They have some darker shades not unlike the polish discussed in this article!
Check this polish out for sure – if that perfect nail design is your thing then this is worth a shot. If Black polish designs are your thing [like with me], this will also satisfy you I think!
